Meet Dr. Aminat Osuji
For Dr. Aminat Osuji, dentistry is more than creating beautiful smiles, it's about building confidence, fostering trust, and making a real impact. She believes a smile reflects self-expression, joy, and well-being. With a warm, compassionate approach, she ensures every patient feels heard, valued, and cared for.
Dr. Osuji earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor, the #1 dental school in the U.S., and a Health Sciences degree from the University of lowa. Committed to continuous learning, she has advanced training in implants, veneers, crowns, bridges, and full smile makeovers.
Family is at the heart of her life. As a wife and mother, she balances her passion for dentistry with raising her son, JJ. Her experiences as a mother enhance her patience, empathy, and connection with patients, making every visit welcoming and comfortable. She is an active member of several leading dental associations such as the American Dental Association, Chicago Dental Society, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and Illinois State Dental Society, staying at the forefront of advancements in dentistry. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, staying active, and spending time with her husband and son.
Meet Dr. J.C. Jacobs
Dr. Jacobs was born and raised in Bloemfontein, South Africa, where his love for music and science shaped his path. A passionate cellist, he moved to the U.S. to study chemistry and music at Northwestern University, where he met his wife, Linda. Their shared love for learning and adventure led them to build a life together in Evanston, where they've lived since 2009. In June 2024, Dr. Jacobs joined Designer Smiles, bringing his dedication to compassionate, high-quality dental care. Dr. Jacobs completed his dental degree at the University of Illinois in Chicago.
For Dr. Jacobs, dentistry is about more than just treating teeth, it's about creating a safe and welcoming space where patients feel valued and cared for. He continually expands his expertise through advanced
education and is an active member of the American Dental Association, Chicago Dental Society, and Illinois State Dental Society.
Beyond dentistry, family is at the heart of everything he does. Whether cheering on South African rugby teams, attending classical concerts, or exploring new places, he cherishes time with Linda, their son Charlie, and their two beloved dogs, Toby and Molly.
